| We are motivated by elimination - Ramos

Real Madrid's surprise midweek Spanish Cup exit has boosted the club's determination to beat cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid on Sunday, defender Sergio Ramos said Friday.
"Being eliminated served as more motivation to win," the 21-year-old told the club's website.
"We have to win no matter what. We need to maintain our lead over Barcelona and to make sure our fans stick by our side just like they did during the first half of the season."
Real fell 1-0 at home to Real Mallorca on Wednesday, losing their 100 percent record in the Santiago Bernabeu stadium and delivering a huge blow to the reigning Spanish champions' morale.
"We all had trouble dealing with it because we wanted all three titles this year," said Ramos.
"We have a substantial lead over our rivals and have a good chance in both the League and Champions League. We would have liked all three, but we have to forget about the past," he added.
Real Madrid have 47 points, seven more than nearest rivals FC Barcelona. Atletico are third with 37 points. |
