The striker wants to stay in Spain, and Aragon looks the likely destination...
Real Zaragoza are set to seal a deal for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Negredo, according to reports in AS.
Negredo, who has been linked with Hull City in the Premier League, is believed to want to remain in Spain but Los Blanquillos have failed to meet the €18 million fee required.
Hull have agreed to Madrid's terms, including a two-year buy-back clause believed to be in the region of €25m, but despite this it is looking likely that Negredo will be playing his football at La Romareda next season.
Real Madrid appear willing to meet the player's wishes, allowing him to remain in Spain. Although they will receive a much smaller fee, it is understood they will retain the two-year option to re-sign Negredo for next to nothing.
Los Blancos are apparently happy for Negredo to continue his development in Spain, where he was the second highest Spanish goalscorer in La Liga last season with 19 goals for Almeria.
They will now focus on offloading the Dutch trio of Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder and Rafael van der Vaart in order to recoup some of their summer spending. |
